09 Feb THE CFO SUITE SPONSORS FIRST ANNUAL NTFB TELETHON IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WFAA PLUS THE ANNUAL TASTE OF THE COWBOYS EVENT
$50,000 Gift supports North Texas Food Bank’s vision to create a hunger-free, healthy North Texas
In response to the ongoing hunger crisis in North Texas, The CFO Suite donated $50,000 to the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). This gift will support the Food Bank’s work to provide access to healthy foods across a diverse 13-county service area. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought multiple challenges to our community- from illnesses to job losses which have impacted many of our neighbors. To combat increased food insecurity, the North Texas Food Bank has partnered with WFAA to create Stand Against Hunger– a special telethon on March 30 – to help raise funds and awareness to battle food insecurity in our region. The CFO Suite is proud to be one of the first official sponsors for this event and is also donating funds in sponsorship of Taste of the Cowboys, the Food Bank’s annual fundraiser in partnership with the Dallas Cowboys.
This sponsorships will allow the food bank to provide access to 150,000 meals to North Texans in need. As the pandemic has raged on, the Food Bank has seen the needs increase for food assistance and has doubled their output to help feed as many people as possible.
The Food Bank team has worked to equip the NTFB Feeding Network of Partner Agencies with more food and resources to aid the community and has also facilitated more than 300 Mobile Pantry distributions since the start of the pandemic, serving more than 120,000 households. All told, the NTFB and their Feeding Network have provided access to an astonishing 100 million meals since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
